graham said quote the last thing we may want to do is read boston suspect miranda rights telling him to quote remain silent and then followed up by saying if captured i hope administration will lease consider holding the boston suspect as enemy combatant for intelligence gathering purposes some state representatives took the sentiment even further calling to actually torture the suspect new york state senator gregg paul wrote sos scumbag number two in custody who wouldn't want to use torture on this punk to save more lives. i wouldn't and no one else that actually respects the rule of law and the constitution because guess what torture is illegal and it's never brought proper intel now it may not seem like that big of a deal to read a terrorist suspect his rights but ponder what glenn greenwald has said he said quote when you cheer for the erosion of your heart and rights you're cheering for the erosion of your own which is what we're already seeing a mindset that has already allowed these rights to be taken for granted and compromised two years ago obama bypass congress to roll back

i don't want to speak for lindsey graham or kelly ayotte, but i think what they would say is we would like absolutely to have the possibility. if there is ticking time bomb let's find out about it. miranda was put into place so you don't have coercion and false confessions under pressure. you don't want to have that but you can prevent that in earth ways too. you can videotape the entire proceeding but you also want to have a more thorough investigation, again because you want to know the methods that are being used. if one of the brothers went to chechnya as we think he did, and was trained by whom or what cells was he told to go back and do this. anytime of your own choosing? will you get a phone call to tell you to do it? was he in touch with other cells may not do something immediately but in three months and at that time people will be killed? i'm absolutely for constitutional questions but it was justice robert jackson who said the constitution is not a suicide pact. to choose not to know is wrong. i want to also raise one other thing and i think senator graham was quite right i
